PRESS - New Method Of Treating Kent's Roads To Be Trialled

A recent article shared by our client Kent County Council discusses the trial that GW Highways will be testing; Gipave – a graphene-enhanced asphalt that involves melting graphene pellets and a small mix of recycled plastic into bitumen.

“KCC’s Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, David Brazier, said: “A regularly used asphalt called Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA) could typically expect a structural lifetime of around 10-15 years, whereas a Gipave-enhanced SMA could expect to last up to 25 years.
